Big Claim Against American Union Leaders

NEW YORK, May 23. The Republic Steel Corporation, the chief target of the 1937 strike of the Committee of Industrial Organisation, has filed a 7,500,000 dollar suit against Mr John L. Lewis and other organisers of the Committee of Industrial Organisation, including 700 workers, for damage suffered by interference with the operation of the companies’ plants.

The case raises an interesting issue, which is expected to be settled by the Supreme Court.
