Remand To Whangarei In Fraud Charges

[.Special to "Northern Advocate ” 7 AUCKLAND, This Day.

Charges of obtaining sums from Charles Schon, at Whangarei, on May 20, by means of valueless cheques were preferred against Leslie Jack Davis, labourer and mechanic, aged 29, (Mr. Henry), and David George Fletcher, sheet metal worker, aged 28, in the police court yesterday before Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M.

Davis was alleged to have obtained £ls 2/6 and Fletcher £2O.

On the application of DetectiveSergeant McHugh, both accused were remanded to appear at Whangarei on June 1. He asked that bail be substantial. Other charges were pending against Davis, and Fletcher was already on bail on charges in respect of which he had been committed to the Supreme Court, Bail for Davis was fixed at two sureties of £SO and for Fletcher two sureties of £IOO.
