Labour Retains Seat With 15-Vote Margin

(Received 3 p.m.) BRISBANE, This Day

Labour retained the seal for Griffiths by the narrow margin of 18 votes. When distribution of the preferences of Mr E. H. Graham (Protestant-Lab-our) were completed, the figures were: Mr W. P. Conelan (Labour), 27,799; Mr P. McGowan (United Australia), 27,781. A recount has been demanded, but it is not expected that this will upset the result.
