R.M.D. Widened In Okaihau Sector
[Special to “Northern Advocate”! OKAIHAU. This Day.
Settlers living in the Horeke-Rangi-ahua district are to receive an improved mail service from June 1.
At present a large * number of families living in the neighbourhood of Okaihau receive only two mails a week, and it is intended to start a daily rural-mail delivery on the first of next month.
The mail service will leave Okaihau daily at 9.15 a.m. and will travel down, the Waihou Valley to Rangichua.
From Rangiahua the mail car will deviate on to the Rangiahua-Horeko road, and will continue through Hcreke. fb Utukura, Marangai .and finally to Okaihau. The only service at present being operated in the district is from Manga-muka'-to Ok.aihau by way of Rangi-. ahua and the Waihou Valley, and the Mangamuka section of this service is to be continued as a feeder service. When the tw r o services .are commenced, 226 householders will be placed on a rural delivery, whereas in the past only a little over 100 enjoyed this postal service.
