Britain And Czech Annexation
(Received noon). RUGBY, May 23. Asked in the House of Commons whether, in view of the German Government’s decision to grant extraterritorial rights to diplomatic representatives in Prague, it would be more clear that the shutting of the British legation did not imply recognition by the British Government of the forcible annexation, by Germany, of Czechoslovakia, the Foreign Undersecretary, Mr R. A. Butler, replied that the withdrawal of the legation did not affect the attitude of the British Government, as stated by the Prime Minister,, Mr Chamberlain, on March 20.
