The Prime Minister, Mr Chamberlain, in answer to a question in the House of Commons, said Turkey’s obligations under the Balkan pact were primarily a matter for the Turkish Government, but, so far as he was aware, the Anglo-Turkish declaration could not be interpreted as precluding the Turkish Government from fulfilling its obligations under the pact.
