Beef Values Ease At Westfield Today
AUCKLAND, This Day
At the Westfield stock sale to-day, the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., reports tnat their yarding of beef was a large one, the supply exceeding the demand. Values eased 10/- to 15/- per head for ox. Prime cows and heifers were also affected. Quotations: —
Extra choice ox sold to 32/.- per 100 lbs.; choice and prime ox, 28/- to 31/-; ordinary and plain, 23/- and 27/-, prime young cow and heifer, 24/- to 27/-; ordinary cow beef, 17/- to 23/-. Heavy prime steers made £ll 7/Q to £l2 10/-; lighter prime steers, £lO to £ll 5/-; light prime steers, £8 to £9 17/6; small and unfinished steers, £3 10/- to £7 17/6; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £9 to £9 10/-; heavy prime cows and heifers, £7 5/- to £8 17/6; lighter prime cows and heifers, £6 to £7 2/6; light prime cows and heifers, £4 15/- to £5 17/6; other kiilable cows, £3 to £4 12/6.
