Licensed Maternity Hospitals Sign Contracts

[Special to “Northern Advocate”'] AUCKLAND, This Day. Twenty of the 28 licensed maternity hospitals in the Central Auckland district have accepted service under the maternity section of the Social Security scheme, as a result of additional contracts signed this week. It was stated by officials of the Health Department yesterday that our of a total of 186 maternity beds, 134 were now available under the Act. There has, however, been no change in the position of medical practitioners. *
