Waipu Operations Considered Satisfactory

CALF POOL

Operations of the Waipu Calf Pool were discussed at the annual meeting of members at Waipu yesterday when there was a small .attendance. The chairman of the committee, Mr. J. McKenzie who presided, presented the report which revealed that 2000 calves had been handled, the return to suppliers averaging 7/4£d, which was considered satisfactory. The committee, the board of directors of the Waipu Co-op. Dairy Co. Ltd., was re-elected and it was decided to recomend to the committee that this year calves from the pool be disposed of through the Pig Marketing Association on a co-operative basis. Last season the pool operated on the tender system.
