Singles.— Canapel (Italy) beat Noghes (Monaco), 6—o, 6—3, 6—l; de Stefani (Italy) beat Medicin (Monaco), 6—l, 6—2, 6—2. Playing at Budapest, Mitic (Yugoslavia) beat Gabory (Hungary), 6 —3, 2 —6, 6—l, 6—l; Abolh (Hungary) v. Puncec (Yugoslavia), 7 —5, 4 —6, 6—5 The winner of this match will meet Italy. Yugoslavia eliminated Hungary from the Davis Cup. In the final singles. Puncec beat Gabory, 6 —l, 6—l, 6—4, and Mitic boat Aboth, 9—7, 2—6, 10—8. 6—3, By defeating New Zealand by three matches to two in the Davis Cup series Great Britain qualified to meet the winner of the match between China and France ,at Wimbledon a fortnight hence.
