Circular Saw Breaks And Flies 300 Yards

[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] TAIHAPE, This Day. Flying through the air like a shot from a gun, one piece of the broken blade of a circular saw passed over the Taib.ape High School building yesterday afternoon and became embedded in a pine tree near the entrance to the recreation ground, while the remaining part landed on the front lawn of ,a residence in Carver Street.

The saw was being used by Mr. O. McSweeney to cut firewood in the backyard of his residence when it broke into two pieces. The fact that both parts were found more than 300 yards away from the scene gives some idea of the speed with which the saw left the bench. The larger part struck the tree 10 inches from the ground and stuck fast in a horizontal position.
