Rifle Club Commences Winter Season
The Whangarei Defence Rifie Club commenced the winter season during the week-end with the first shoot for the George Neville trophy. This contest is decided on the aggregate handicap score for four consecutive shoots.
A feature of the shoot was the poor scores registered at 300 yards. Although the conditions did not appear to be bad, G. Neville was the only one to return a good score, his card for 300 yards reading 5,5, 4, 4. 5,5, 5,5, 5,5, total 43. Scores were: G. Neville; 48 at 200 yards, 48 at 300 yards, handicap 1, total 97; E. A. Foot 46, 41, 9, 96; A. E. Austin 43, 36, 17, 96; J. Copeland 43, ,35, 15, 93; W. Boreham 48, 44. 0, 92; W. Norris 46, 43, 0, 89; J. Litchfield 44, 42, 1, 87; J. Norris, 45, 38, 1, 84.
