• The American travelling public has only just commenced to realise what you have to offer; the real achievement of transportation is to bring out people together in large numbers and it is certain of accomplishment, ’ said Mr William P. Roth, president of the Matson Navigation Company who is a through passenger on the Mariposa to Australia. He said that finality has not been reached on the proposal to build two ships for the America-New Zealand-Australia route. Consideration wa£ being given at the present time to increases in ship building costs and the question of a subsidy.
