Street Day Collection For Cancer Funds
May 24 has been suggested as a suitable day for a street collection in connection with the Empii’e Cancer Research fund. Speaking at the Auckland Provincial Centennial Council executive meeting in Whangarei on Saturday night, Sir Ernest Davis, Mayor of Auckland, appealed to delegates to assist in what way they could towards the fund. As president of the Now Zealand branch of the campaign, ho explained that the campaign aimed at securing all possible information that might lead to successful research into the disease. Efforts were being made throughout the Empire, he said, to secure information that could be pieced together and utilised in the fight. “It is only in this exhaustive way that we can discover some clue to defeating the ravages of this disease,” he said.
