Hukerenui Gain Deserving Win
Although new to hockey, Kara played nicely against. Hukerenui, and showed the right spirit, though a knowledge of the rules was obviously lacking. Hukerenui took the game by three goals to nil, and deserved their win. A season of play—though it was not marked by any success last year—has bad its effect for good on this side, and the reward for perseverance came not so much with the win on Saturday but rather with the greater assurance Hukerenui displayed. In particular their goalie did good work, and has the promise of being a most useful man in the nets when competition is hard. , Kai'a, for a new team, showed the right spirit, but needs coaching. A greater knowledge of the rules would be an asset. They played the game, however, and that counts for much.
Scorers wore J. Hedley, A. Lynch and A. Rouse, who gave Hukerenui a three goals’ victory to Kara’s nil. Messrs S. Oldcorn and J. Ashcroft controlled the game.
