(Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 12. Cuba has asked the International Sugar ' Committee to eliminate the prospective surplus of 600,000 tons in 1939-40 in retufn for her agreeing to release a surplus of 200,000 tons to relieve the present shortage.
