Sale Of Tobacco Regulations Gazetted

Regulations under the Board of Trade Act governing the sale of tobacco are issued in a supplementary Gazette.
The regulations state that, no raw tobacco shall bo sold by a grower or purchased from him at less than 1/2 per ib., free on board ship at Motueka or Nelon, in the case of tobacco grown in the Nelson province, and in other districts at less than 1/2 per lb. free on board ship or free on rail at the port or railway station nearest to the place where the tobacco is grown.
No raw tobacco shall be sold by any person other than the grower or purchased from such person at less than 1/2 per lb. free on board ship or free on rail, as before. The Minister of Industries and Commerce may authorise the sale or purchase of tobacco at a price less than 1/2. The regulations are to remain in force until March 31, 1940.
