Chadwick-Parsons

The wedding of Zena Mabel, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. W. Parsons, of Marangaturoto, to William Gordon Hallawell, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Horace Chadwick, of Tinopai, was celebrated at the Congregational Church. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. Thornley. The bride, who entered the church escorted by her father, wore a gown of white figured taffeta cut on simple lines with a full skirt. Her tulle veil, relieved with palest pink was held in place with a coronet of wild pink roses, and she carried a bouquet of white timber roses and chrysanthemums with pink streamers, completing an attractive picture. She also wore a much valued necklet and charm belonging to the bridegroom’s grandmother. In attendance was Miss Linda Ball, as bridesmaid, attired in pale pink floral taffeta. She carried a bouquet of pink chrysanthemums with white streamers.

The groom was attended by his brother, Mr Eric Chadwick, as tfest man. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Masonic Hall, which was decorated with flowers to tone with the wedding group. i The bride’s mother received her guests wearing a navy floral frock of courtauld silk with seal hat and coat. The bridegroom’s mother wore navy crepe de chine ensemble with hat to match.

Mr and Mrs Chadwick left by car to spend their honeymoon in the south.
