Mrs A. J. Elumenthal and family are spending the school holidays in Auckland.

Mrs F. W. Smith, Panama Road, Otahuhu, has returned home after a visit to her parents, Mr and Mrs O. Guild, Echo Avenue, Whangarei. Miss Leah Ansell returned at the week-end from a holiday in Auckland. Miss Maud Moreland, Hamilton was a week-end visitor to Whangarei. Mrs D. J. Goodwin is spending several weeks in Dunedin. Miss Ruth Edge, of Kamo, leaves tomorrow to take up a nursing appointment at St Mary’s Home, Otahuhu, Auckland.

Miss Ellen Fry, of Kamo Road, is a visitor to Wellington. Miss Leila Morgan, of Murray’s Bay and formerly of Whangarei, is the guest of Mrs A. S. Fagan, of Grey Street. Mrs. W. C. Coote left today for Takapuna and Rotorua. She expects to be away three weeks. Mrs. R. J. Dunn, who has been in Auckland, returned to Whangarei today, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. R. P. O. Foote.

Mrs H. Horner has returned from a visit to Wellington.

Mrs J. Downes has returned to Pukekohe after staying with Mrs J. Courtney.

Mrs T. Mitchell lias returned to Whangarei after visiting Auckland.

Mrs Frank Armstrong, Maungatapere, returned today from a holiday touring the North Island with her husband and a party of friends.

Maungakaramea Plunket Society Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Plunket Society was held in the hall on Monday afternoon. In the absence of the president, Mrs Dave Walker owing to indisposition, Mrs K. C. Woodcock presided over a good attendance.

Officers for the ensuing year are as follows: President, Mrs David Walker (re-elected); vice-president, Mrs A. Hayward; secretary and treasurer, Mrs L. J. O'Carroll (re-elected); committer, Mesdames L. Goodenough, H. Harvey, A. McLennan. A. Peers-Adams. F. Lilt and A. McKenzie.

It was decided to hold ping-pong evenings in the winter months.

A successful “bring and buy” was held and afternoon tea concluded the meeting.

Miss Joan Geissler was hostess at a Mali Jongg evening on Thursday night, the guest of the evening being Miss R. Lawrie, who loaves shortly for her homemt W.arkworth. Among those present were Mrs Roberts, Misses R. Lawrie, L. Lloyd. F. Findlay. Z. Phillips, T. Hendy. J. Peters, P. Perkins. M. Simmons. M. Hawken and J. | Menzies.
