The death occurred in the Christchurch Hospital yesterday of PilotOfficer William Frederick Dawson, and Leading-Aircraftsman George Henry West died last evening. Both suffered severe burns when a Vickers Vildebeest aeroplane, piloted by Acting-Pilot-Officer R. J. McCroric, who was killed, crashed into a tree, fell to the ground, and burst into flames, when about to land after night-

flying exercises. . \ Mr West, who was aged 25, came from Bluff, and had been stationed.for two years at Wigram with the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
