The Pope Will Not Call Peace Conference
(Received 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 11. The Vatican City correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says it is officially stated that no peace conference will be held.
A Vatican encyclical on peace is not contemplated. The Pope will not preside at any peace conference anywhere hut in the Holy See. He has not proposed mediation in any quarter, but the Pope’s diplomats are exercising persuasion with several Governments for the maintenance of peace.
