Spotlight 0n... Lieut.-General Sir John Dill

Lieut-General Sir John Greer Dill, who is heading a British military mission to France, has had a noteworthy career. Commander-in-Chief at Aidershot since 1537, the year in which he was knighted, Sir John, zoho was born in 1881, served in the South African War, receiving the Queen’s Medal and five clasps. He also sewed throughout the Great War, and was many times decorated. He teas Director of Military Operations and Intelligence at the War Office from 1934 to 1936, and he commanded the British Forces in Palestine from 1836 to 1937.
