Good Competition For Cattle Yardings
The North Auckland Farmers’ Coop., Ltd., reports a large yarding at its Fipiwai sale yesterday, the offering being mainly store and beef cattle, which met with good competition. Most of the cattle changed hands at j satisfactory prices. Backward spring- j ers made from £3 5/- to £4; forward-1 conditioned cows, £3 to £3 16/-; boner j cows, £1 8/- to £2 14/-; cows andl calves, £1 7/- to £3 2/-; yearling Jer-] sey bulls, £2; small Jersey heifers, £2| 1/-; small Jersey heifer calves, £li 2/ to £1 5/-; yearling steers, £2 3/-;j boner bulls, £5 5/-. j
At Maungakaramea, the same company had a good yarding, consisting chiefly of boners. A total clearance was effected under good competition. Heavy boner cows made from £3 to £3 l 10/-; medium, £2 to £2 14/-; light, 10/- to 13/-; Jersey heifers, £4 15/- to £5; cows due to calve in July and August, £2 to £4 10/-; springing cows, £5 10/- to £6 5/-. 4 ‘
