Successful Horticultural Year
A busy and successful year was shown in the annual report and bal-ance-sheet of the Umawera Horticultural Society submitted to the annual meeting. The society’s show in February was the best ever held, entries being double those of previous years. The president, Mr O. O. Perry, thanked those responsible for the success of the show and said it gave encouragement for an even better fixture next season. The balance sheet showed the society to be in a healthy position and thanks to those who had donated prizes and extended help in other ways was expressed.
Officers were elected as follows.— President. Mr O. O. Perry; vice-presi-dent. Mr J. V. Abraham: secretary, Mr Kenneth Harrison; treasurer, Mrs R. R. Beale; committee. Mesdames J. Abraham, R. Ogle. W. Reed and Messrs J. Shapland. G. German. O. Wooster. M. Baker.
