Desertions From H.M.S. Endeavour
LONDON, April 26. Mr. Geoffrey Shakespeare, Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty, replying to the allegations of discontent among lower deck ratings of H.M.S. Endeavour since the Endeavour was commissioned for service in New Zealand two years ago. said there had been 15 desertions. No complaint had reached the Admiralty regarding conditions, but he was obtaining a report.
