The Prime Minister, Mr Savage, will arrive in Auckland from Wellington on Monday morning on a brief visit to Auckland. He will be accompanied by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, and an official party. Mr D. J. Cummings, Commissioner of Police, who has been making an inspectional tour of Northland police stations, left Auckland for Wellington by train yesterday afternoon. Mr H. S. P. Rishworth was yesterday admitted by Mr Justice Callan as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court, on the motion of his father, Mr H. C. Rishworth, of Whangarei.
The death occurred yesterday in Auckland of Mr Walter Witton Daw, a noted figure among Freemasons of .the English Constitution in Auckland. For more than 30 years Mr Daw held positions of high rank in the craft, including that of Deputy District Grandmaster. He was a familiar figure in Whangarei, where he officiated at installations for many years.
