Sir J. Anderson
Sir John Anderson, Minister of Civil Defence in Britain, who has told the House of Commons that, acting on expert advice, the British Government does not intend to adopt deep bomb-proof shelters as protection against air raids. Sir John Anderson, who has had a long and distinguished career in the Civil Service, was Governor of Bengal when he was called to Britain to take control of civil defence organisation, of which task he has made a striking success.
