Fees Collections Increase In Mangonui
The Traffic Inspector (Mr A. Mackenzie) reported to the Mangonui County Council on Wednesday that for the year ended March 31 heavy traffic fees collected totalled £1657/10/4, compared with £1554/14/8 for the previous year. During the year he had issued 182 new drivers’ licenses. Royalties collected for carting logs on various roads amounted to £77/15/5.
The amount collected for dog collars on March 31 was £lB7 17/9 against £ 180 12/6 for 1938.
Unfortunately. through Mr J. Rarity being transferred to another district, the services of a most efficient secretary had been lost,.stated Mr K. M. Hayr, when presenting his annual report at the annual meeting of the North Auckland Primary Schools’ Rugby Union last night. At all times, Mr Rarity had worked for the good of school football in the district, and the replacement of such a keen and enthusiastic officer would be difficult.
