The first event at the Reefton races today was won by the favourite. Miss Tasta. The weather was fine, the .attendance large, and the course in good order. Results: —

Flying Handicap, of 70sovs„ five furlongs.—(l) Miss Tasta, 8.7, 1; (2) Improvident. 8.0, 2; (4) Papernilla, 8.1, 3. Scratched: Malvasia, Passenger. Queen Linda, and Jewish Lady. Two lengths; a neck. Time, 1.1 2-5.

Progress Trot, of 70sovs., one mile. —(4) True Pronto, limit, 1; (1) Chameleon. 24yds, 2; (2) John Worthy, 12 yds, 3. Scratched: koyal Surprise. A neck; two and a-half lengths. Time, 2.18.

Alexander Handicap, of 75 sovs; one mile. — (1) Shangri La, 8.4, 1; (5) Gay Spear. 7.0. 2; (2) Comus, 8.4, 3. All started. Two and a half lengths; one length. Time, 1.44.
