Li ce - Infested Sheep At Sale
[Special to “Northern Advocate”] KAIKOHE, This Day.
Two cases of exposing sheep for sale while they were affected by lice came before Mr. G. N. Morris, S.M., at Kaikohe yesterday. The magistrate, in convicting the people concerned, stated that greater care should be taken to see that the offences wore not repeated. Gammon Bros, were fined £1 with £l/1/6 costs for exposing affected sheep at the Kaikohe saleyards. It was stated that the sheep had been dipped a fortnight before the sale, but one or two had wandered into a neighbour’s paddock, and no doubt had become infected while away from their own flock.
E. Robinson, who did not appear at court, was fined £2 with £1 costs for a similar offence carried out at the Ohaeawai sale on February 27.
The many friends of Mr J. R. Reyhurn. who recently had a severe seizure, and was admitted to the District Hospital on Monday, will regret to hear that he is critically ill.
