Maungaturoto Water Scheme

[Special to ‘'Northern Advocate ”]

PAPAROA. Thursday

The Maungaturoto water scheme was again before the Otamatea County Council yesterday when a letter from the district engineer. Mr. R. H. Packwood, was received.

At a previous meeting the council decided that when the plans were finalised the council would call a public meeting in Maungaturoto and submit the whole proposal before the general public for approval or otherwise.

Mr. Packwood wrote to the effect that the source of the proposed supply had been proved to be satisfactory, and a detailed survey of the whole scheme was in hand. On completion of this, the plans and estimates would be placed before the council. If it was necessary Mr. Packwood would attend any meeting the council arranged. After a short discussion it was decided to take no further action until plans and estimates had been received from the district engineer.
