Work On Auckland's New Wharf To Proceed

[Special to “Northern Advocate ”l AUCKLAND, This Day.

Following negotiations with the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, the chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr. W. B. Darlow, announced yesterday that work on the new export wharf would; be continued, \yithout interruption. Mr. Darlow said that assurances had been given, by. Mr. Nash that finance would bo available to enable the board to proceed with the work. Because it had been unable to obtain loan moneys for capital work at the Government’s prescribed rate of interest, 34 per cent., the board at a meeting on Tuesday decided to discontinue the work on the export wharf.
