Influenza-Ridden Riders

Influenza continues very prevalent in Whangarei, and in some homes ah members of the family are affected. Most offices and shops report absentees owing to illness, and in some instance contract work out of doors is being held up. The seasonal sickness is not confined to Whangarei, and among the victims are a number of the leading jockeys.

R. W. McTavish, very popular rdier, is missing his firsts meeting at Whangarei for over 10 years; while George Cameron, who h'ad, a mount in the Whangarei Cup event, is also bedridden in Auckland.
