Position Relieved In Otamatea County

[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] PAPAROA, This Day.

Warm steady rain commenced to fall in the Otamatea County late last night and continued throughput the night. This morning the downpour continues. For Otamatea it appears as if the drought has broken, and it has been broken just in time. A few days’ warm rain and the pastures will take on a new lease of life, relieving the feed position for the winter months.

Everything will depend upon the temperature.

As long as the warm spell lasts, the growth' should come away rapidly but any sudden drop in the temperature will see the new growth retarded accordingly. The rain has come just in time to fill tanks that were dry in almost every household and to give the dairyman a chance of keeping his stock alive during the winter.
