Kamo And Whakapara Leaguers Unite
More than 30 members and intending members of the Kamo Rugby League Club attended the annual meeting this week. .
It w,as decided to combine with the Whakapara Club and play under Whakapara colours in the name of Kamo United.
Officers were elected as 'follows:— Patron, Mr W. Brydon; president, Mr J, Hooper; vice-presidents, Messrs.' J. McLennan, A. Finlayson, E, Wilkinson, J. Mclnerney, H. F. Younger and S. Smith; secretary, Mr N. W. Cox; treasurer, Mr J. King; delegates to Northern League, Mr King (Whakapara) and Mr H. Lenne (Kamo); club captain, Mr F. Johnston; committee, Messrs. J. Lewis, F. Burch, F. Johnston, H. Lenne and J. Frew.
Three members of the Northern League were present to discuss various League matters with the Kamo players. It was announced that two coaches would be coming north shortly with the object of improving northern standards. A field day is to be held next Sunday at Kamo, when the committee will decide how many teams to nominate for this year’s competitions. The field day commences at 1 p.m.
