Great Democracies' Bitter Criticism

(Received 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 19,

• Vigorous and bitter condemnation of Germany’s breach of faith with Czechoslovakia, and her virtual subjugation of the component parts of the republic, have come from the three great democracies, British, France and America.

A report of a German ultimatum to Rumania for economic control is denied, but large- scale troop movements in that country, and also by Soviet Russia, are reported. Forces, it is said, are being dispositioned along the frontiers facing what is believed to be the route of German advance. The British Cabinet will meet today.

Mr Chamberlain had a long audience with the King, and, important statements are expected today in the House of Commons and House of Lords,
