Secondary Industries Expansion Policy Commended

[Per Press Association.— Copyright.! AUCKLAND, This Day.

New Zealand’s aim at building up secondary industries was sound, declared Mr C. R. Hall, secretary of the Chamber, of Manufacturers of New South Wales, when he arrived in Auckland by the Niagara to-day, en route to the New York World’s Fair as the Commonwealth Government’s official.

“Among Australian manufacturers there is quite a lot of interest in the possibility of coming to New Zealand to establish manufacturing plants,” he said.

However, before any Australian ventured to set up a plant here, he would naturally want to know to what extent the movement of capital would be allowed.

“Australia is still pushing ahead with development of industries, and American industrialists are continually coming Australia’s way. A lot of British capital has been invested in Australia also,” he concluded.
