NORTHLAND TRIBE
"Advocate” Office, Water St., Whangarei. Tuesday. March 14, 1939.
Dear Northlanders,
The S.P. quite likes the way our Whangarei Ilapu | maidens sing. At least he did on Saturday; he posi- ? tively “gooed” with, delight.” , \
We don’t expect you to “goo” with delight, but | we do know that you’ll enjoy the broadcast on the | second floor of the Bargain Stores building on Friday • f next—two sessions, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. i
I sound like a- radio announcer, don’t I? The f Office Boy says I sound more like the man outside | the big tent at a circus. But then, he never is very § polite! I
Talking of the hapu’s singing reminds me that f some Northlanders heard secrets on Saturday night. * Seems to me the singing of the Matahurua Ilapu | will get even better before the year’s out, and there’s | even talk of a play or two. Bazaars and odd jobs • were also suggested—so that sounds as if someone i intends making money in a hurry. f
I’ve an idea you’ll be just as anxious to get busy $ once our really big secret is out—you know, tbc i one we’ve been whispering about for a long time. f ? Watch out, Northlanders. There may be move ? news next week. \
