Kensington Croquet Club Trophies
In the club play on Saturday among members of the Kensington Croquet Club, Mrs Stringer and Mrs Courtney retained the “stars” in the senior division, but, in the junior division, Mrs Barriball and Mrs Saunders lost the “brooches” to Mrs Adams and Mrs Simons.
Juniors Entertained
Two of the senior members of the Kensington Croquet Club, Mrs Johnston and Mi’s Tibbits, who have always taken an interest in newcomers to the club, entertained the junior players on Thursday afternoon. Winners in a croquet competition were Mrs G. Wilding and Mrs J. Reynolds. The consolation awards went to Mrs J. Neale and Mrs Woodbn'dge. For their interest in the junior players, Mrs Johnston and Mrs Tibbits Were thanked by those who took part in the competition.
Major-General Faupel, the first German Ambassador to General Franco, in a speech as the German Acadamy in Berlin, said the agitation in the United States-against the totalitarian States was designed to camouflage American expansion aims in Spanish America, and to secure' the domination of the dollar in South America, where the United Stales claims were unfounded geographically, culturally and economically. Major-General Faupel added that Germany should send teachers, doctors and scientists to South America, and also use the radio, films and newspapers there to counteract the United States propaganda.
