Anxiety In Prague
LONDON, March 11
There was anxiety in Prague lest the Slovaks should seek German aid. The Bratislava radio station to-day ?announced the overthrow of the provisional Government, after an existence of 12 hours; also the retreat of the Czech troops and gendarmes. It accused the Czechs of attempting to install an unconditional military dictatorship.
The 'Slovak leader, M. Sidor, had stated earlier that the crisis between {he Czechs and the Slovaks would be settled in 24 hours, on the basis of autonomy for the Czechs.
The crisis appeared yesterday to be temporai’ily ended.
M. Sidor was to present suggestions for a new autonomist Cabinet. The Bratislava military authorities, however, arrested him on his arrival.
Subsequently, however, M. Sidor was released, whereupon he announced that he was acting in the formation of a new Government to enable a compromise to be reached.
