Harvest Festival Church Services

Harvest festival ceremonies were conducted in the Baptist. Presbyterian and Methodist churches in Whangarei

on Sunday

Fine collections of fruit, vegetables and all that grows in crops were neatly and originally arranged at the three churches, where appropriate sermons and anthems were rendered. The Rev. R. G. Eycroft conducted both ceremonies in the Baptist Church, while the Revs. W. Elliott and H. J. Tozcr, of the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches respectively, changed pulpits for the harvest thanksgiving services in the morning.

On Sunday afternoon the children of the Presbyterian Sunday School attended in large numbers, and each child bought a harvest gift for the special service which they held.
