Good Progress On Roads For Month

With fine weather prevailing for the past month, there has been good progress on the various road ’ works in the Whangarei county. In his report presented at Friday’s meeting of the County Council, the engineer, Mr J. Norris, reported that 600 yards of crushed metal had been delived to the Puhipuhi back road, to which a total, of 1500 yards is to be delivered.

Work on the McLennan Road, Whakapara, is nearing completion, and 1500 cubic yards out of the 2000 cubic yards to be put on the Otakai-rangi-Ri'ponui Road has been delivered.

The earthwork on the McLennan Road. Otonga, is almost completed, and metalling is to be started shortly. Work has been completed on Tremaine's Road, and the Kaitara-Gum-town and McLeod’s access roads, while work is proceeding satisfactorily on the Pataua-Hora Hora and Walker roads.
