Mr. Pirow Sums Up

CAPETOWN, February 28. The Minister of Defence, Mr O. Pirow, after enduring bitter taunts in the Assembly regarding his recent mission to Europe, tersely enumerated his discussions as follows: Airways; reciprocity in trade relations with Portugal and Belgium; investigated in Spain modern warfare methods in a territory corresponding with the Union; discussed trade relations with Germany and Italy; paid a goodwill visit to Holland; discussed the international situation, with special reference to lasting world with European statesmen. His attitude, he said, was approved 'by his Ministerial colleagues.
