Spotlight 0n.... Hon. R. Menzies

Mr. R. G. Menzies, whose resignation as Attorney-General in theFederal Cabinet is, expected as a result of the decision to abandon the National Insurance Scheme. 1 Aged forty-four, he obtained fi,rst-class honours at the Melbourne University. He practised as a barrister, and entered the Victorian Parliament in IS2B. He has held several Ministerial posts, including that of Railways, between 1932 and 1934, and was Acting-Premier of Victoria in the latter year. He is Deputy-Leader of the United Commonwealth Parliament.
