Support For Mr. Stanley
The following resolution, passed at a general meeting of the Whangarei branch of the Auckland District Labourers’ and Related Trades Industrial Union of Workers has been forwarded to the ‘'Northern’ Advocate,” by the secretary, Mr F. E. Ward:
“We protest at the unconstitutional, reactionary tactics of different trade union representatives; and further are of the opinion, that the time is opportune to rid the Labour movement generally of this disruptive element. We also express our whole-hearted confidence in our general secretary, Tom Stanley, for his progressive policy, both for the union and the class he represents.”
To meet the farm labour shortage, totalling 300,000, Germany is employing 200,000 foreigners, mostly Poles and Italians, says a message from Berlin. Fifty thousand nurses are also needed.
