A Game To Play
An unusual game for a party, as well as an excellent exercise in observation, can be played in the following manner: Upon an ordinary tea tray ask daddy to place a dozen small articles, such as a key, a matchbox, comb, thimble, pen-knife, fountain pen, envelope, pencil, reel of cotton, postage stamp, a flower, and a penny. When a good assortment of articles has been found, cover them with a cloth and place the tray in the centre of the room, with four friends —each provided with pencil and paper—sitting round. When all is ready the cloth is removed and the articles are studied for one minute. As soon as the time is up, the cloth is replaced over the tray, and file one who can write down the most complete list of artcilcs wins a prize. This all sounds very easy, but it is not so. as you will soon find out for yourself. Great fun can be had in this way, but. besides being amusing, the game trains you to bo observant—which is quite another thing from merely seeing.
