Smash-And-Grab Raid
[Per Press Association. Copyright .] DUNEDIN, This Day. Thieves who canned out. a smash-and-grab raid on a jewellery shop at Milton on Saturday night were apparently disturbed, for after taking a quantity of articles from the window, mostly women’s watches, they left untouched rings and watches well within their reach. A diamond was used to cut a circle about nine inches in diameter. A brick was then used to break a larger hole, and through this hole watches of fairly substantial value were removed. The window was cracked from top to bottom, and falling glass caused considerable damage to crystal and chmaware.
