[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] DARGAVILLE, This Day. When the Dargaville cricket competition was resumed, following large scores by Old Boys and Dargaville the previous Saturday, the opposing teams, United and High School respectively, had difficult tasks on Saturday, and both lost on the first innings. In reply to Old Boys’ total of 240 for seven wickets declared, United compiled 115 (Petersen 16„ McLaggan 19, Mason 29, Noble 16 not out), Olsen taking four wickets for 21 and Izzard 4 for 35. Following on, United at stumps had scored 144 for 8 wickets (Petersen 18, McLaggan 46, Mason 23, Murdoch 31), Olsen taking 5 for 22. Old Boys won on the first innings by 125 runs.

Replying to Dargaville’s total of 246, High School scored 106 (Burton 16, Weir 12, Dickson 11, Reid 12, Gunn 18 not out), Orevich taking 5 wickets for 25. In its second innings, High School compiled 189 (Weir 17, Reid 21, Burton 70, Dickson 30, Sidey 19), Orevich taking 4 for 22. With 50 runs to get for an outright win, Dargaville at stumps had scored 47 for the loss of two wickets (Dabb 19 not out, T. Roberts 26 not out), missing full points by three runs.
