New Hall Opened At Tauraroa

People of Tauraroa have a very intimate interest in the fine new hall which was opened there last week. Under the capable guidance of Mr L. Bicknell, practically the whole manpower of the district assisted with the erection of the building, which stands as a tribute to their enterprise and spirit of co-operation. Four Hundred People Present. Approximately 400 wore present to make the official opening an unprecedented success from evei'y point of view.

Visitors from a wide area were highly enthusiastic concerning the building, which is a fitting social centre for a progressive district. Complimenting the people of Tauraroa upon their achievement, Mr E. Woolhousc, chairman of the Hall Committee, said that it was only the voluntary labour and spirit of the community helpfulness which had made the project possible. All Lend a Hand.

In some cases, people unable to assist in the -Work Of building, had given financial support. Mr Woblhouse also praised the ladies, whose co-operation in many ways had been invaluable.

On behalf of Maungakaramea residents, Mr T. O’Carroll offered his congratulations. For the social which followed, the dance floor was as good as the surroundings promised. Mr R. McCullough was M.C. An energetic committee dispensed supper.
