An Auckland Brawl

[Special to “Northern - Advocate ”3 AUCKLAND, This Day.

An ugly situation developed in Fergusson Street, City, last night, as a result of an attempt by a constable to break up a fight between two young men, and for some time there was danger of a general brawl, with tho public taking part. One of the fighters escaped, and when' a struggle took place between the constable and the other man, part of the crowd took sides and entered into the fray. In response to an urgent call, 15 detectives and constables were despatched to the scene. In the Police Court today, a young man was charged with fighting and using obscene language and resisting the polite, and a young woman was charged with disorderly behaviour and indecent language. Both were remanded.
